FAQ
Common questions
Straight answers about the Google listing, reviews, posts, directories, and how we work. If yours isn’t here, send a note from the contact page.
- What do you actually do?
- We keep your Google Business Profile in shape, ask for reviews and reply to them, post updates and photos on Google and on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, fix your name/address/phone on directory sites, and send a monthly report of where you show up on the map. We also check whether tools like ChatGPT mention your business, and we usually send SEO suggestions for the website you already have. We’re a small digital marketing agency — not a full-service shop.
- What is local SEO?
- Local SEO is the work that helps people nearby find you on Google Maps and in local search. For us that means the Google Business Profile, directory listings, posts and photos, reviews, a monthly look at where you show up, and SEO suggestions for the site you already have. The point isn’t just more leads. It’s more of the jobs you actually want.
- Do you run our social media?
- We post updates and photos on your Google listing and on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. We don’t buy ads, redesign your brand, or run a separate social campaign.
- Will this put us first on Google?
- No. We can’t promise a #1 spot, a set number of leads, or that ChatGPT will recommend you. Google changes all the time, and results also change by neighborhood. We do the work, keep at it, and show you where the listing actually appears so you can see what’s happening.
- How does pricing work?
- We quote a price for your business before anything is billed. There’s no rate card on the site. The free audit doesn’t start a bill. There’s no annual contract unless we both put one in writing.
- Who owns the Google Business Profile?
- You do. You stay the owner while we work on it. If you stop, the profile stays yours.
- Who is this for?
- Mostly local service businesses — plumbers, HVAC, roofers, electricians, painters, and shops like that. If customers find you on Google (or should), this is for you.
- Why do I look great when I search from the shop, but nowhere else?
- Because you’re standing on the pin. Searching your own business name from your own location is the easiest search Google has. Customers don’t search that way. They type a service — sometimes with a city — from home, work, or the next strip over. Google builds the map from relevance, distance, and how well known the business is. The list in your doorway is not the list three neighborhoods over. That’s why a neighborhood view matters more than a screenshot of your own pin.
- What does the monthly work actually include?
- Keeping the Google Business Profile current — categories, services, attributes, description. Publishing posts and photos on the listing and on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Asking for reviews and replying to them. Fixing name, address, and phone on directory sites. And a monthly report of where you show up on the map, plus whether tools like ChatGPT mention the business. Posting twice and mailing a PDF isn’t the job.
- What do I get from the free audit?
- A real look at your Google Business Profile: what’s missing on the listing, how reviews look, and where you show up around town. You can run it online without booking a sales call. It doesn’t start a bill and doesn’t need a card. If the profile already looks solid, we’ll say so.
- What are directory listings / citations?
- They’re the other places your business shows up online — name, address, and phone. If those don’t match Google, they fight with the listing. We add the ones you’re missing and fix the outdated ones across a bunch of directories.
- Do you buy reviews or guarantee Google will remove a bad one?
- No. We ask for reviews after real jobs, watch what comes in, reply, and help report ones that look like they break Google’s rules. Google decides what comes down. We don’t invent feedback or pay for stars.
- How long until we see results?
- It varies. Google changes their algorithms frequently so no one can predict exactly how long it will take (if another marketing company does make a promise, run away - fast!). What we can say is we often see movement in 90-120 days. The monthly report is how you see what was done, how you've progressed over time, and where you showed up.
- Do you rebuild websites?
- Most of the time we send SEO suggestions for the site you already have — titles, service pages, and the words that should match the Google listing. If you need a new site built, we can talk about that too. The day-to-day work is still the listing, reviews, posts, directories, and the report.
